Developing and optimizing your processes

DESIGN FOR SUCCESS

You have just found an industrial opportunity—or you are already operating a working production plant. Either way, your business objective is to create a product that can be sold with the highest profit possible. At Seneca, we rely on process engineering to transform your ambitions into commercial success.

We all know that any expansion or upgrade to your industrial project comes with risk, and any risk is of great concern to your investors. Our process design—called the Seneca process package—helps us address the risks that come with scale-ups. We have successfully completed the transition from pilot plants to demonstration plants to commercial plants. That is why our experience and integrity will put your shareholders and financiers at ease.

To do this, we rely particularly on our understanding of the basic principles. Moreover, we have an extensive knowledge of the technologies commonly used in the industry. We can determine how you can produce unit operations at a commercial pace, in order to create a marketable product.

What’s in it for you

Defining the processes required by your industrial operations is your greatest guarantee for success. It allows you to benefit from:

  • the confidence of being in control of your project thanks to a detailed charter
  • peace of mind by being on time and on budget thanks to careful planning and accurate estimates
  • the knowledge that you are generating profits thanks to an accurate evaluation of your OPEX
  • the reassurance of financing your activities based on research with highly credible documentation.

Working closely with you, we design processes and technically manage your implementation projects—or even manage them from start to finish. Our engineers follow a methodology based on best practices. By completing dozens of such projects every year, they have earned the experience and gained the technical skills necessary to help you make your dreams a reality.

OUR ROLE, IN BRIEF

Our team can modify an already developed process for your project in order to improve it. We can work to make it more cost-effective and safer for your resources in accordance with your needs. Our role, in brief, is to add power and efficiency to your operations.

INNOVATION TO MANUFACTURING IN FIVE SEAMLESS STEPS

1) Research and discover

Our engineers develop technical and economic models to validate different manufacturing scenarios.

2) Define the design

Our team develops prototypes and pilot programs to validate the design and the performance criteria for laboratory testing.

3) Laboratory testing

Laboratory testing is the first phase of process design. All critical elements identified in the previous step are resolved by our experts and all tests are documented.

4) Build a pilot- or semi-pilot plant

This new phase aims at testing the continuous process while optimizing it for manufacturing. Here, the process is developed entirely by our engineers.

5) Switch to commercial mode

The risks associated with marketing will have been lowered considerably by virtue of the rigorously documented completion of the previous steps. Our team will continue managing your project until your plant has been built or your operations site has been developed.
