Instrumentation and Control Engineer

Reporting to the Supervisor of the instrumentation & control team, you will carry out projects in an industrial environment and will assume the following responsibilities:

  • Participate in the realization of engineering mandates in instrumentation and control;
  • Prepare project cost estimates
  • Design drawings of process control systems
  • Select the instruments;
  • Write the functional descriptions of the processes;
  • Participate in the programming of PLCs and operator screens;
  • Test and correct programs;
  • Participate in the commissioning of equipment such as variable frequency drives, calibration of instruments and other electrical equipment;
  • Offer technical support after startup.

Skills and requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to instrumentation and automation;
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Knowledge of programming of distributed control systems, PLCs, communication networks and operator screens;
  • Good knowledge of engine controls;
  • Bilingualism (French-English) both oral and written;
  • Certificate of ASP Construction;
  • Experience in consulting engineering and operating plants (an asset);
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code;
  • Excellent technical writing;
  • Ability to adapt, rigor and sense of organization;
  • Excellent team player and good communicator.
